Using world leading Network Virtualization to connect hospitals

  • Customer: Oslo Universitetssykehus

  • Solution: Network Virtualization, SPB rollout

  • Customer Value: One common network ensures improved communication between the hospitals

As part of the major reorganisation of Oslo Universitetssykehus, a new network infrastructure needed to be re-designed and implemented. IPnett delivered a project with focus on transforming and virtualizing the hospital’s traditional network architecture to a fully transparent, more managable and future-proof network. This transformation resulted in improved communication & information flow between the three different hospitals (Ullevål Sykehus, Radiumhospitalet and Rikshospitalet). The Avaya SPB solution builds the back-bone of Oslo Universitetssykehus infrastructure, and was one of the first projects of it’s kind in Europe. Oslo Universitetssykehus has responsibility for 2.5 million people, handles 45,000 admissions per year and has approximately 20.000 employees.
